We can describe a person, a place, an object or an experience (event).

Descriptive writing creates a clear image in the reader’s head. That’s why we should teach our students this short statement: SHOW, DON’T TELL!.

Ask them to describe something or someone in a way that makes it come alive for the reader. Therefore, it’s important to incorporate all of the senses: taste, touch, sight, smell and sound.
